The SMA Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce that the 9th Annual Who is Jay? Mental Health Symposium, scheduled for May 15, 2024, will feature keynote presentations by Gaelin Elmore and Mark Henick.

Gaelin Elmore is a dynamic and nationally sought-after keynote speaker, trainer and thought leader. He works with organizations and people to become belonging-informed in order to help children overcome trauma and unleash their potential.

Gaelin’s passion and energy for his work stems from his heart for justice and his own lived experience. His own belonging journey has led Gaelin to the National Football League, and now stages, board rooms, and organizations, all across the country, aiming to inspire, encourage and equip others to think differently about their work and its long-term impact on others.

Mark Henick is a broadcaster, bestselling author and mental health advocate who dedicated his life from an early age to opening minds and creating change. As the Nationally Syndicated Mental Health Columnist for CBC Radio, he’s participated in more than a thousand interviews about mental health to date.

Mark’s lived experience is complimented by his work in community mental health – as well as his studies in psychology and philosophy at St. Thomas University, child development at the Erikson Institute, neuroscience at King’s College London and cognitive psychology at the University of Cambridge.

“We’re very excited about what Gaelin and Mark will bring to the table and to our community in regards to mental health and suicide prevention awareness.” said Jennifer Secor, Executive Director of the SMA Healthcare Foundation.  “We are also proud to offer again diverse topics and presenters beneficial to professionals and anyone interested in learning more about mental health.”
