Brief Bio:
Amie Newins, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Central Florida, the director of the Center for Research and Education on Sexual Trauma at UCF RESTORES, and the director of continuing education for UCF RESTORES. Dr. Newins received her B.A. in Psychology from Mercer University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Tech. She conducts clinical research and serves as a clinical supervisor in UCF RESTORES. Her research interests are broadly focused on the relationship between anxiety and health risk, with an emphasis on trauma.
